~ LE PARADIS DES yUnEr ~

Havin been at TTSH ED 4 a wk left me a deep impression dat human life is juz too vulnerable. Saw da victims of da horrific accident at Hougang on wed morning. Both Sap n i were tinkin how cme it was so been on a bright n sunny day.

When we reached da dept, da radiographers were oledi doin a multiple case. Dat guy fell frm 9m. Tink he might be workin at sum kinda construction site ba. He had xrays of da whole spine, shoulder, forearm, pelvis n femur i tink. Da form was full of da xray stickers.

Den soon after i was asked to go over to resus to help Goldie wif her resus patient. But i din noe dat da patient was involved in dat houganga accident. Goldie did a series of xrays, tink chest, whole spine n pelvis. Den v.soon after, Mdm Koo went over to do another resus case too. Dat was da female patient involved in da accident. Sap n me followed. 1st time seein da "All our radiographers r away for more serious cases blah blah blah" being pasted up. 2 radiographers were tied up at Resus while another 1 went ED. Resus was v.chaotic. 1st time seein a patient on da CPR machine. Da sound was scary. It pumped so hard on da poor patient's chest. I read da form n realise they cldn't identify her coz her form was labelled as "Unknown Female Malay". She was oledi pulseless when she was being sent in to da hospital. All nurses n docs were tryin their best to save her. I took da cassette back to process. Meanwhile, da RA told me to do da patients there waitin at da dept. I was like "huh? nobody here ar? Den i do alone?" Ya u noe students aren't suppose to do anything w/o radiographers ard ma. But it was a simple x-ray (but i can't rem wat liao) so i juz went ahead lor since all of them were tied up elsewhere. Den there was another patient at da other rm. I still duno y she was in dat rm when there was no radiographer ard. She came 4 a knee xray n i completed it again. Den Mdm Koo came back n she was like how cme i was still there doin other patients when i was suppose to go back n help out. But Sap was there wif her too wat. Anyway, they stopped after da chest x-ray was done. I overheard dat they wanted to c if she had pneumothorax. Den we were asked to go back until they told us to do da rest of da xrays again. But there was no news anymore after dat. We guessed da patient cldn't make it anymore n we were rite. Felt quite bad coz it was da 1st time dis kinda thing happened. She's like still so young! N da guy is only 18! Sigh. Life is really vulnerable. I heard dat guy's condition was quite bad too. Had spinal injuries i tink. Sap said he's frm NYP too. Sad. All dis happened bcoz of dis reckless driver who even ran away after da accident. Wa lao eh. U tink u can run away meh? Like nobody c meh? It's during da rush hr lor n u hit so many buses n a car. I really wonder y dat driver remain unscathed after hittin 2 pedestrians n so many vehicles.

I saw another patient on da CPR machine in resus again. Tink dis time was either on thurs or fri. U noe it only means dat da patient is in critical condition or dat they r tryin to save da patient back dat da patient is on CPR? I hate dis. I dun wan to hear da sound of it anymore. It makes me feel sad. Argh.

Ok back to clinicals. It's da end of 2 wks! Hurray! I'm so happy. N i gt marvellous evaluation. I really duno y. I've gt all ticks under da above expected level! Whee! Seriously, dis kinda thing all depends on whether da person judgin u likes u or nt. Sap din gt dat gd evaluation frm da same person. N i heard they chose who they wanted to evaluate de. Unlike last time coz Surrender wasn't ard dis whole wk.I cleared 3 competencies n left wif 3 more to go. I seriously dun tink i can gt facial bones/orbits, nasal n sinuses in either AMK Community Hospital or KKH. 1 is like 4 palliative patients n da other is 4 kids. How to do lidat? Aiyo. So i asked Xian Dong to help me. He signed my sinuses n nasal after i told him how to position 4 those projections. So nice of him! I dun even haf to go back n sign my reports coz he juz signed 4 me w/o me writtin yet! Wow. Really nid to thank him coz i'll prob lose marks on these juz bcoz i can't find cases dat i nid. Last 1 will haf to wait n c how lor. Heard KK shld be able to find. We shall c.
