5th day at NUH le. 1st day at inpatient rm. Havin real hard time transferrin patients coz they all weigh tons! N poor me only weigh abt 42kg? Haha... I tink it's easier 4 them to tranfer me instead lah. Anyway, worked wif a few ppl today. 1st is Rashidah who went off at ard 9+ coz she wasn't feelin well. Den came Michael (!!) whi did a few cases n a patient went off w/o doin his other procedures coz of me. Hmm, i wanted to make him stay de but da nurse outside said he cld go off coz he's outpatient (dun ask me y outpatient ppl r being done at dat inpatient rm) n so i told him to change n go off. God noes he has ANOTHER procedure awaitin him. I cldn't find him back after dat n i duno wat they did. Juz really wanna apologise to Michael 4 creatin dis mess. It's nt totally my fault too rite? U told me to ask him to go de ma. N da nurse said da same thing. Sigh.

Anyway, i was almost like tourin da whole dept while tryin to find da guy who Michael told me to inform abt dis missin patient. Den was held up by sum relatives of a patient who was doin catheterisation coz they wanted to find out whether dat patient was still doin da procedure nt. So i went in n tried hard to find sum1 to ask. N finally i found dat patient's name written on da board sayin he's still inside doin da procedure. So i gladly went out n told da relatives to wait awhile more. Den they told me they went off 4 breakfast so they din noe whether dat patient has been wheeled back to his ward or whether he's still inside. Being infamiliar wif such cases, i went in to double check again. FINALLY i managed to assure both myself n da relatives dat da patient was still inside. Wasted 4 abt half hr? Chaotic sia.

Went back to Rm 6 n continued doin my work. It's da 1st time we students all had lunch at da same time coz none of da radiographers went 4 lunch at 12. Ervin who was at A&E managed to catch us in da food court too. Too bad Venice n gang decided to go to dat stuff canteen instead. I did 2 competencies after lunch under Peiying (or izzit Peiyi?) at Rm 2, da rm i'm suppose to be dis cmin thurs n fri. She's really a v.nice person lah. Trusted us pretty much to do most of da cases. Did my foot n knee competencies, although da lateral knee was abit less than perfect n nid a repeat. Hmm was wonderin wat mistakes i did to inccur a repeat. But i tink i did everything stated in da bk! Angled tube, bended knee nt too much nt to little blah blah. But it turned out to be ugly. Peiying said we nid to pad da foot a little plus angulate so dat da femoral condyles will superimpose nicely. Hmm... noted. My foot was ok. Glad i rem to angulate le! Hurray!

But i made another patient repeat her chest AGAIN. But i dun really understand y we chopped off her apices. Maybe i'm nt customed to da tube n bucky in dat rm ba. I thot da buck n tube plus positionin all looked ok to me. Guess it's dat bucky's prob ba. Nid to push it up a little higher.

Venice n i were luffin at poor Patrick coz he hit his head into da tube at Rm 6. Venice was there to witness it. N she said she thot he cld c dat tube was in his way rite in front of his head! Ok accidents do happen. But dat's nt all lah. He was like rubbin his head so hard n we tried hard nt to luff but it's really a funny scene. U noe after sum time he was like still rubbin dat sore part when he went out to find patients! Ok n after a real long time lata, when we shifted to Rm 1 coz there was no patients at Rm 6, he was STILL rubbin his head! Ok i'm mean to luff at him but his actions n all r really funny. Haha... Still wanna luff until now. Bleh =P.

Heard Rachel is da CLO at NUH! OMG! I tink my assessment here will be real bad. Sigh. But how can she actually assess us base on dat 1 day we work wif her at A&E? Nt fair rite? Shld like us other radiographers to assess us too ma. Hmm... Wonder how it will go. Thot Michael was da CLO lor. So we were all wrong. Asked Ervin to pass Rachel my draft report. Nids summore amendments n it'll be done. Gonna do my 2 other reports tml. Holiday! Gonna slp alot again. Haha...

Every1 was like nt havin da intention of doin femur dis postin. Hmm ok lah. If i cme across 1 n they dun wanna take it, i'll try n go 4 it ba. No harm ma. Poor Venice, Shirlene n Yuying still haven break their 0 record. I hope they can do at least 1 here. Jia you!

Hmm, was comparin da workflow in NUH n SGH. I personally like da workflow over at SGH more lah. 1 to each rm (as in really 1 rm each coz NUH's rms r open to a common corridor n other radiographers r able to c wat u r doin), able to read case sheets b4hand (at NUH, we r only able to noe wat we r gonna do when we call da patient in. Da patients hold onto their case sheets n past x-rays!), enablin us to prepare ourselves 4 dat procedure. But if we were to compare, there r lesser pateints den at SGH lah. We still can take a break at ard 3+ 4 coz we cleared all cases le. But i dun rem a time where we can rest over at SGH general. Hmm... does dat mean SGH is earnin more money? Haha... feel like askin when da application 4 sponsorship starts n ends. Maybe ask SGH 1? Still considerin... But ain't it gd to haf a job straight away after graduation n havin mthly pocket money now rite? Tink i juz email n ask them 1st ba.

Hope wed will be a beta day...
