1st day at SGH EIC, da emergency dept. Hmm, lots to say actually coz it's quite an interestin dept to start wif. We dun do x-rays on patients who r too sick or bloody like wat u r tinkin of rite now. I guess those will be done by da radiographers there n we r nt suppose to c until we r told to do so. But it's interestin bcoz of da ppl there. Mr Fong is a nice guy who bothers to teach us n allow us to practice on da patients, even those dat i've nv done b4. I've taken da foot x-ray today by myself! N i'm proud of it. All thanx to Mr Fong. N i'm currently learnin how to position 4 KUB, abdomen n lumbar spine. Lumbar spine is 1 tough part to position correctly n gttin a perfect image is even more difficult. I tink we all nid more practices lah. I hope we can learn alot frm Mr Fong dis wk coz i haven really been able to learn much since i was in MAH n GIC wif Eunice last wk.

Ok so far so gd. U noe i din noe dat da 1st impression i left on Mr Fong after i position 4 my 1st patient in EIC was dat i was cool. Haha... Coz it's a chest x-ray n i'm quite familiar wif da machine there since it's sort of similar to da 1s in GIC. Well, maybe dat's da way i interact wif da patients ba. Nt sure abt dat. N hurray, i dun nid to wear formal wear to clinicals le!! Coz in EIC, there'll be uniform provided n we r nt suppose to wear anything which goes beyond da uniform beneath it. So i guess i'll be wearin tee n jeans frm tml onwards.

There's dis real fat lady who came into our dept at ard 4+. She was so fat dat she can't move herself at all. I speculated dat she's at least 200kg n Simi said she muz be over 200. Well, dat's sad rite coz she can't even stand, bathe, sit n do anything. N she complained of backache. I tink dat's bcoz she lie down 4 too long le lah. Well, but she had no choice i guess. N all of us were there to help transfer her over to da radiographic table frm her bed. N we only realised how bad she smells after da x-ray had been taken n we were back to tranfer her back. Oh my she stinks like hell.

Anyway, Mr Fong showed us sum weird images of previous patients taken in EIC. Man they r really weird lor. There's dis guy who had a metal paper clip inside his private part. I really wanna noe how he gt it in lor. Haha.... N there's dis lady who wore panties wif beads formin da word SEXY n it's shown on da x-ray. So we all noe wat she wore. Haha... Den there's ppl wif naval rings etc too. N there's dis last guy who had a sort of like syringe thing inside him near da belly button to da back. I still haven gtten da ans yet. Tink gonna ask tml. Oh there's dis guy livin wif a bullet inside him near da heart. Oh man. I can't imagine livin wif a bullet inside me. Mr Fong said da docs might haf decided to kip it inside coz it might be even more dangerous n caused more harm to take it out. Wow.

He said Shirlene they all saw a case which was on da news last mon. It's a lady who gt knocked down by a bus n her leg was split open n all da stuff inside like da bones can be seen. Well, too bad i din gt to c it. Oh ye there was dis case of a chopped off arm sent 4 x-ray too. I tink sumbody's arm gt chop pff by sumthing lah. Yucks. Well, i was wonderin how cme da arm dat was chopped off nids to be x-ray but nt da person himself? Hmm...

Wah i certainly haf lots to say in EIC huh. Haha... I tink it's really interestin lah. I do hope to c strange cases myself but i dun wish to c them coz it'll mean ppl r injured n stuffs. Well, life's contradictin lah.

Oh it's da 1st time i c a dead man being pushed out in a hospital. I thot dat person hurt his/her head coz it was bandaged up. He/She was oledi being covered by da blanket frm head to toe, although i can still c da hair n bandage. Well, i only realised dat da person had being wrapped up oledi after his/her death. Dat's dabao in chi. Can't help but feel a little sad although i did nt even cme into contact wif dis patient. I wonder how i'll feel if my patients pass away. Alrite i dun wanna noe it lah. Dun wanna make myself sad. Sigh. Dat's hospital life.

Seniors r discouragin us in dis course, tellin us we really shld gt ourself a degree elsewhere 4 other course coz it'll cme handy. Well, i tink i'll still like to be optimistic n hopefully in my own way coz of my interest in dis course. Nutting's gonna stop me now anyway. So i'll strive hard to be a gd radiographer in future, startin to train frm now. =)

Ok lah. Wrote abit too much today. Let's c wat interestin stories i haf tml ba... =)
