Suddenly I'm addicted to milk tea! Ok nt really suddenly lah. I've liked ice milk tea esp frm Mos Burger, but now i'm in love wif hot 1s! Perhaps it's due to da over indulgence of Mac breakfasts in sch coupled wif da cold weather (only when it rains. I was choosin over coffee n tea to buy 4 my breakfasts during clinicals n i felt i still prefer tea to coffee. It gives da same effect as coffee to kip me awake due to it's caffeine content.

Advantages of Tea

1) Tea vs. Coffee
In a study comparing tea and coffee, both beverages had similar effects on alertness, but tea produced more consistent levels during the day and appeared to have a more gentle reviving effect (32).

2) Tea and tea flavonoids have also been shown to help strengthen the body’s immune system (33-42, 56-63), protect teeth by inhibiting plaque bacteria (43, 44, 55), potentially fight free radicals produced during strenuous exercise (75-79), and possibly increase kilojoules burned during everyday activities (64, 65).

3) Another factor to potentially maintain a healthy weight is that regular tea contains caffeine which has been shown to increase energy expenditure (number of kilojoules burned)(17,18). In a study, published in the Journal of Nutrition, consumption of 3-4 servings of oolong tea was shown to increase energy expenditure and the rate of fat breakdown. In addition, subjects drinking tea spent energy at a 3% faster rate and burnt about 70 more kilojoules a day than those consuming water (48).

All of us shld start drinkin more tea!
