~ LE PARADIS DES yUnEr ~

Ended 1st wk of clinicals at AH.

Day 1:
We waited outside X-ray 1 4 ppl to brief us or sumthing. Den we found out dat X-ray 1 opens at 083 wif da receptionist cmin in really at 0830 sharp. Den we waited 4 radiographer to cme. But still no 1 came by n we decided to ask. Den we realise dat we shld haf gone to X-ray 2 instead. So off we went to X-ray 2 at 0840 n Michael took us ard to all 3 rms since da CLO was nt there. We were posted to diff rms on diff days, nt like 1 whole wk stay in same place like other hospitals. So i was posted to X-ray 2 (A&E dept) on mon, wed n thurs, X-ray 3 on tues n X-ray 1 on tues. V.weird hospital coz they dun really seperate patients into inpatient or outpatient coz they do both inpatient n outpatient at X-ray 1 n 3. I worked wif Jennifer n Maricris tog wif Royce. Both radiographers were vv.nice ppl. Din do compentency coz still nt familiar wif their style n all. Met my primary sch fren there workin as a medical student n he drove me hme! Woohooo!

Day 2:
Workin at X-ray 3 wif Yuxin n JJ. 1st day there so nv do competency at all. Both of them gt da hang of it since they were there on mon. Only i had to settle down 1st. Weird. Worked wif Rholand's (frm TTSH) wife Daisy n KK. X-ray 3 still nt usin CR yet. So every time u do a case, u haf to wait 4 da film to be printed b4 u can c whetehr to pass it or nt. Den saw our CLO n had a mini technical session wif him, briefin us of where da stuffs r placed n wat to follow. I was down wif backache but i duno y coz i cldn't recall dat i did move patients da day b4. Weird. Da pain was only at da right side. Sigh.

Day 3:
Workin at X-ray 2 wif Dewi n Elizabeth. She din really treat us v.nicely at 1st coz she gt sick of students as she gt saboed last wk when da students flashed cassettes under wrong patient name n it caused her to haf to write a report. So she was a little cautious wif us n din really make us feel welcme. But after a little while, she gt beta n started treatin us a little nicer. But i felt stressed workin under her. Can't imagine workin wif her again on thurs. I went to buy Salonpas patch 4 my backache as it seem to haf aggravated. I'ld be in pain wheneva i sit down or bend down. Argh.

Day 4:
Still at X-ray 2 but Dewi was sick n on MC! Dat meant i haf to face Elizabeth alone. Oh man! But wat surprised me was dat she was alot nicer today n i enjoyed workin wif her. Went several times to portable wif her to resus rm n she allowed me to do quite alot of cases. Den she spotted dis MO dat came by n wanted to noe his name but she was doin a case. So i volunteered to help her take a look coz i was curious as well. Ok lah dat MO was quite cute but has gt a blur look. Haha... So fun. Most of da time Elizabeth will be at MRi rm wif Michael n Tee Meng. I'ld be left alone wif da RA waitin 4 cases to cme. We can even c da no. of patients cmin in wif various reasons at A&E on da com! Heh. N dat RA was v.interestin. Kip teasin me n jokin ard. He muz be dat legendary RA who wears tie to work. I did my lumbar competency under Eliz. Finally did sumthing. N i noe i wun be able to do any tml over at X-ray 1. Havin pasted da Salonpas patch overnite, my backache seemed to gt beta le. But will still continue to paste it on coz i dun wan it to cme back again. Anyway, if u gt backaches next time, try Salonpas. It's gd coz it works. Ok maybe only to simple backaches ba. Haha...

Day 5:
Feelin scared coz i was gonna mit da legendary Khairun. She was nt as bad as they said in da morning. Juz dat she expects alot frm us n frm herself. Saw several BMD wif her n did abt 5 x-ray cases until lunch time. They use da same x-ray machine as wat we haf in sch n we nid to remove da exposed film in dark rm to process n put in new film as well. Learnt to work in dark rm but i haf phobia of dark so muz work as quickly as i can to gt out of da rm. Haha... Luckily there's still a red light lah. But it's actually nt of much use though. Haha... I gt scolded by Khairun after lunch coz i was left alone to do chest x-rays while she did her stuffs such as BMD. I still dun understand y she scolded me 4 usin portrait instead of landscape 4 a nt dat big sized patient. I collimated juz nicely n everything was in. There's still space 4 more lah! Darn. I still dun tink i did anything wrong so i kept scoldin her behind her back. Haha. Other den dat she's still ok lah. But there's sumthing disgustin abt her is dat she's proud of herself n she says out loud! I can't stand it man. She does assessment of herself every now n den by typin out qns to test herself. Ok her typin cannot make it so i typed out 4 her. She was v.grateful to me but i dun really wan her to rem me lah. Haha... Den she said out dat she's proud of herself since she can ask herself those qns n answerin them correctly. I almost wanted to vomit there n then. Oh man! Luckily it was time 4 me to go off so i hurried out of dat place. But i still nid to face her another day more coz i'm posted to X-ray 1 on next fri! Argh.

I'm gonna do more competencies next wk since i'm goin over to X-ray 3 on mon n tues n X-ray 2 on wed n thurs. Will be workin wif nice ppl so will be ok i guess. All except fri lah. Sigh. Maybe i shld juz gt MC instead. Haha... Juz kiddin.
