~ LE PARADIS DES yUnEr ~

Last day at SGh was a fulfillin 1. Learnt da erect abdomen view n wat's diff frm supine abdomen view. I've nv done an erect abdomen b4 so he briefly told me to center at lowest costal margin n do it in PA position. I was quite unsure abt doin it AP or PA but now dat i tink of it, if i did an AP view, da bones r closer to da casstte n dat's nt wat they wanna c! So i guess i'm a little nervous there. So i made da patient face da cassette, centered da tube n lowered da bucky to center to da patient's LCM. Den i felt 4 her spine to center her to da tube. I went out to expose, nt sure whether i asked Mr Fong whether my positionin was ok nt. Guess i did ba. Den i did da supine view, bringin da patient to rest on da table 1st coz i tink it's weird to let her stand there n kip facin da bucky if i remove da cassette to process. N she's an old lady so i felt i nid to tend to her more. So i den proceeded on to position her 4 da supine view. Hmm, i din noe whether there's a cassette placed in da bucky liao nt so i did a quick check b4 i position coz it'll be beta n faster to prevent da patient frm movin when i go out to take cassette n put in n i'll nid to check again. So i did as wat i was told to center like da KUB, at da iliac crest n in btw da 2 ASIS. Den Mr Fong told me to elevate da table coz i'll hurt my back bendin down so much. I din really realise dat coz it came naturally to me to bend down. So i elevated da table as told (which i can nv rem dat) n pushed up da tube to compensate 4 da diff in FFD. Den i checked on both sides to c whether my collimation will chop off any side nt n after dat i went out n shoot. Den Mr Fong told us all wat r da plus pts i did during da procedure.

Well, Mr Fong praised me a little coz of these little things dat i did. Man i only realised how much i've learnt frm Eunice after Mr Fong told us abt wat they saw when i was positionin dis patient. It's marvellous. I'm shocked myself too. Like checkin on both sides to c whether i will chop off da side, checkin whether my centerin pt is really centered by feelin 4 both ASIS, checkin whether there's cassette in da table bucky (coz i did da erect 1 1st). Well, so i did learn quite abit frm Eunice although i've nv done any abdomen x-rays in front of her. Cool. =)

I managed to do 2 AP sittin chest cases wif Pram y'day, which was my last day, in critical care rm. It's really a big challenge to work there man. I'm impressed by her. Li Sheng is 1 nice man too. V.soft spoken n gentle i tink. Heh.

Oh we were abit confused over wat each radiographer does 4 da same x-ray. It's weird lah. Sumtimes we do wat 1 radiographer told us like to center where n so on, den another radiographer will cme n tell us it's wrong n we nid to repeat. Hmm, i tink diff ppl does things a little differently lah. Juz like each hospital has it's protocol. So well, we haf to learn n adapt to diff environments.

U noe it's so totally diff in SGH n MAH. Ppl at MAH r like nt willin to teach us or let us do da cases. N den they blame us 4 nt doin things n gif a bad assessment of me. Da v.1st assessment really did make me feel so demoralised. But upon seein wat da radiographers wrote abt me here in SGH, both Mr Fong n Zain, I felt alot beta n gainin more confidence le. Dat i muz really thank both of them 4 dat, esp Mr Fong 4 allowin us do as many cases as we can w/o makin us nervous by standin by our side n givin us stress. Haha... But i tink i feel really comfortable workin wif him so it give me nt dat much stress n i can really handle da patient on my own. It's a wonderful feelin coz he trusts us. Dat's y i dun screw up as many as in da past ba.

Next big thing dat is goin to happen is da results on wed, other den handin up assignments n reports on mon. Well, i'm really quite scared 4 MRS coz i din really study 4 it. Focused too much 4 A&P coz i desperately wan an A 4 dat. Hmm, But now dat i tink of it, i might nt gt A. Duno lah. I shall lower my expectations 4 dis exam n i predict i'll gt B, B, C n D. Bs 4 A&P n Radiation Phy, C 4 Sociology n D 4 MRS. I juz hope 4 a pass 4 MRS lah. Haha... We shall c on wed.

Ok i'm still half done wif my hierachy assignment n haven even started on reflections. N i still haf my reports to edit. I haven been doin anything! Argh. Will do tml i swear.

Oh my sis's ceremony went quite smoothly today. Woke up at 7+ n they left 4 da guy's hse at ard 8. Den they came back at 9+ n we proceeded wif da tea servin ceremony here. My sis is really pretty. But she doesn't noe how to smile when takin pics, so almost all pics turned out to be erm, a little weird. I feel happy 4 her, being able to find a partner who treats her well. But sayin of her husband, i tink it's abit funny coz when they left 4 da guy's hse, he walked off w/o holdin my sis's hand or walk wif her. I tink he's nervous lah. Haha... i can tell frm da things he did n his facial expression. =)

Da whole thing ended at ard 1 n i was so tired dat i went back to slp straight after dat. Met up wif Stevia at outside SGH to gt my bk back. Luckily i checked coz Eunice din sign 4 my competency! I passed my bk to Yanyan on thurs coz Eunice was attendin to a patient when i went to find her. So i told Yanyan to pass it to her n told her where to sign coz she's wif Eunice in da rm. Well, apparently she 4gt abt it n left it in da drawer. Azizah found it there in da morning n they sent it off 4 me to let Mr Tay sign. Hmm can't blame Yanyan lah. They juz 4gt abt it coz they were bz. So i went back to let Eunice sign. I find Eunice a v.nice person now. Tink she nids sum warmin up juz like Lilian at MAH. She doesn't tok much when she's nt familiar wif u, but after sum time, she'll be v.nice to u. So dis SGH clinicals is a really fruitful 1 for me. I hope i can go back there next postin. Hee... =)
